Well, hoping that this year I’ll be going to Glastonbury Festival (formerly Pilton Festival / Glastonbury Fayre - learning’s fun!) To be honest, I’ve not tried to get tickets before - but my theory is manic persistance will prevail.
Then I read that the Glastonbury website, selling tickets in 2004, received 2 000 000 failed requests in the first day of ticket sales. Fair enough, most of these are going to have been repeated attempts by the same people (say, 500 refreshes in 5 mintues is 4 000 people), but it’s not reassuring to my plan. However, there are 125 000 tickets available, so it should be OK for a couple of hours.
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.
- WC Fields. We shall see on Sunday.
It seems that the easiest way to get into the event (esp since they fenced the place against gatecrashers) is to be a volunteer for Oxfam, WaterAid or Greenpeace or to be in a band that’s playing!
